Pick Up

Pick up at any hotel in Ponta Delgada between 09h00 and 09h15

The first stop is Monte Brasil, where you can see Angra do Heroísmo from above. Take a short drive through the town, then along the southeast coast to the village of Ribeirinha, where you can admire panoramic views.

The route is off-road, exploring the villages of Agualva and Biscoitos, where you can see wild bulls in their natural habitat and a great diversity of native flora.

Take a short break for lunch and then continue on to discover the Algar do Carvão volcano, the island’s biggest attraction.
Finish the tour with more impressive views of the unspoiled natural area in the central part of the island, before being dropped back at your hotel.

During this tour to Furnas, I will offer a unique combination of geothermal activities, natural beauty, local culture and relaxation, making it an attractive destination for visitors who want to experience something different and authentic with a local guide.

We will also visit the one and only beautiful tea plantation of Europe, “A Plantação de Chá da Gorreana”.

This trail also provides us with the opportunity to learn about the native flora because some species have adapted to live on the rim that is exposed to high winds. Our guides do not advise you to visit on a rainy or windy day, but on a clear day you can virtually see all around the island.
