The session begins with a brief explanation of the basics of snorkeling, equipment, and swimming techniques.

A theoretical and practical session explaining the basics of freediving at an introductory level, followed by a dive in the sea.

The practical session in the sea can take place around the Ilhéu de Vila Franca do Campo Nature Reserve, near the shipwrecks from the 16th century. Discover what the underwater world has to offer in the utmost comfort and safety.

Duration:

Half-day, morning or afternoon. Can be held on pre-set dates or on any other date agreed upon with the participants.

Then we head down to the picturesque town of Sete Cidades, where we’ll stroll along the banks of the green lagoon and visit the Church of São Nicolau. Next, we’ll head to Mosteiros to enjoy its black sand beach and four islets. Finally, we’ll visit Ponta da Ferraria, where you can take a hot dip in the sea, depending on the time of year and the tide.

Highlights

Embark on a boat tour and observe the marine life and birds of the Azores. Spot shearwaters, yellow-legged gulls, storm petrels, crabs, and discover much more with the help of our knowledgeable guide.

To avoid disturbing marine life, our Captain is assisted by a professional team of lookouts in Vila Franca do Campo, and all communication is conducted via VHF radio.

At the end of the tour, enjoy the fantastic waters of the Azores at the mouth of the Vila Franca do Campo islet and go snorkeling.

Enjoy a memorable 2.5-hour sail in the late afternoon, appreciating the beauty of the sunset as you’ve never seen it before in communion with the sail.

A marvellous tour aboard our modern and luxurious sailboat of around 22 nautical miles that can be enjoyed between 10am and 5pm throughout the day.

During this tour we will sail along the south coast of São Miguel Island to the islet of Vila Franca do Campo, then anchor in a bay or beach for swimming, snorkelling or paddle boarding or you can simply relax while enjoying our fantastic coastline and taking in the scenery while having lunch.
