Die Insel Faial (die Blaue Insel)
Mit einer Länge von 19,8 km und einer maximalen Breite von 14 km hat die 173,1 km2 große Insel Faial, die zur Zentralgruppe der Azoren gehört, eine fast fünfeckige Form. Sie ist die am dritthäufigsten bewohnte Insel des Archipels und hat etwa 15.000 Einwohner.
