At lunch time, we will have a rich picnic in one of the recreational parks of Faial. In the afternoon you will visit the Caldeira, see the lighthouse of Riberinha destroyed by an earthquake and then go to one of the best sandy beaches of the Azores.

This full day tour starts normally at 9:00. We pick you up directly at your place of accommodation or any place of your choice in Faial. Alternatively we can meet in the city of Horta at the Largo Dr. Manuel de Arriaga on the square in front of Hotel do Canal. Please let us know your preference!

Depending on the ferry schedules you will leave from Faial between 7 and 9 a.m. and return in the evening at around 4 and 6 p.m. At lunch time we will have a rich picnic in one of the recreational parks of Pico.

Hiking around the Caldeira is an experience you should not miss out if you visit Faial. This collapsed volcanic cone is one of the main landmarks of Faial. With 2 km in diameter it is an impressive reminder of the force of nature. The trail around the perimeter is about 7 km long and can be done in two to three hours. The hike around the Caldeira is physically easy, but those suffering from vertigo might find a couple of well secured passages a bit of a challenge. This hike is only worthwhile to be done if the weather is clear and the wind is not too strong. You will be rewarded with stunning views of the neighbouring islands and the untouched nature.
