Explore breathtaking landscapes, from majestic volcanic calderas to impressive lava tubes that tell the story of this island’s creation and transformation. Let yourself be enchanted by the natural pools of Biscoitos, formed by basaltic lava, and taste the wine that springs from this volcanic land. Dive deep into the Earth by descending into Algar do Carvão, one of the rare visitable volcanoes in the world. Walk along roads that wind between volcanic mountains and plains and feel the primordial energy of this piece of paradise.

Terceira Island is not just a destination; is a journey to the beating heart of the Earth.

Important: Algar do Carvão is temporarily closed for construction work. This tour will be replaced by visits to Furnas do Enchofre.

What’s included?

  • Entrance to Algar do Carvao;

  • Professional certified driver/guide;
  • Civil liability insurance;
  • Personal accident insurance;
    *Pick up and drop off at hotels and guesthouses close to the center of Angra do Heroísmo. Outside this area, it is possible but there is an extra fee.

What should you be aware of?

  • Minimum 2 people;
  • Children aged 6 to 10 years old 50% discount;
  • Children up to 5 years old free;
  • Comfortable shoes;
  • Light rain or windbreaker jacket.

Cancellations

Customers will receive a full refund or credit if cancellation is made up to 24 hours before the activity starts. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding cancellation and refund options. In case of no-show, the full amount will be charged.
