The construction of the network of paths in the Azores was born precisely from the initial recovery of these rural routes to which, over the years, many others of specific tourist and naturalistic interest have been added: coastal routes, exploration of the volcanic areas and the reliefs of the inland, circular or linear routes that allow the exploration of entire islands. The paths are classified according to the degree of difficulty from easy to difficult.

There are 76 marked trails for trekking in the Azores, all of which can be traveled with variable lengths, in addition to 5 Grand Routes with circular or linear routes from 40 to 80 kilometers on five of the nine islands.

 

Hiking in the Azores in any season!

Thanks to the mild temperatures of the archipelago, they can be traveled all year round: in spring / summer, when the blooms are more luxuriant, but also in autumn / winter when streams and waterfalls are in full flow and the greenery is more lush. There are 76 marked trails for trekking in the Azores, all of which can be traveled with variable lengths, in addition to 5 Grand Routes with circular or linear routes from 40 to 80 kilometers on five of the nine islands.
