Start the tour by visiting Monte Brasil, where you can see the Fortress of San Juan Batista, built by the Spanish after their arrival in 1583. Enjoy the fantastic views of the city of Angra do Heroísmo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Continue along the southeast of Terceira Island towards the towns of Ribeirinha, Feteira and São Sebastião. See beautiful natural landmarks such as the Ilhéus das Cabras and Salga Bay, culminating in a visit to the oldest church on the island.
Next, stop at Serra do Cume, a viewpoint located on Terceira’s largest caldera. Note the vast expanse of agricultural fields scattered across the island. Afterwards, enjoy some free time for lunch in the charming town of Praia da Vitória.
In the afternoon, continue along the north coast of the island and visit the Biscoitos Natural Pools. Optionally, you can visit Algar do Carvão, an empty volcanic chimney, which should take around 30-40 minutes (ticket not included). On the way back to your hotel, don’t miss out on one more of the beauties of the central area of the island. Among other things, you can see the wild bulls in their natural habitat.
