Circle by boat around the Islet of Vila Franca do Campo, see and learn about the beautiful submerged volcano’s geology and living habitat!
The tour starts with a short briefing introducing the islet’s geology and wildlife, the nature reserve’s, and boat safety. Follow the Guide and Skipper to your designated boat for 5-minute travel by sea to the Islet.

We are the only company in Faial island which offers the original boat trips, called “Capelinhos Ocean Tours”. Being a partner of the Natural Park of the Azores and Geoparque Açores we want to share with you the unique beauty of our island and the natural monument Capelinhos volcano.

The tour starts with a short briefing introducing to the volcanic islet’s geology, plant and animal species that can be found, the nature reserve’s rules, and safety. Everyone will follow the Guide and Skipper to their designated boat, for 10 minutes travelling by sea to the Islet.

Whether with our skipper on board or not, come and enjoy the pleasure of sailing to Santa Maria, with a two-night stay on board. A unique sailing experience, with the opportunity to help out with tasks on board. A wonderful boat trip covering around 108 nautical miles.
