We set off from Ponta Delgada towards Lagoa do Fogo where we will visit the various viewpoints that give us various angles of this lagoon; then we descend to the Caldeira Velha complex where you can bathe in the warm waters surrounded by the Laurissilva Forest. After this relaxation, we'll descend even further to the Salto do Cabrito waterfall, where our tour ends. This tour is available in Portuguese and English

We will learn about the wine culture and the UNESCO World Heritage vineyards landscape. Hiking around the Caldeira is an experience you should not miss out if you visit Faial. This collapsed volcanic cone is one of the main landmarks of Faial. With 2 km in diameter it is an impressive reminder of the force of nature. The trail around the perimeter is about 7 km long and can be done in two to three hours. The hike around the Caldeira is physically easy, but those suffering from vertigo might find a couple of well secured passages a bit of a challenge. This hike is only worthwhile to be done if the weather is clear and the wind is not too strong. You will be rewarded with stunning views of the neighbouring islands and the untouched nature.
