Caldeira is a very unique volcanic collapse crater because the high altitude allows for a geological interpretation of most of Faial’s characteristics. The interior of the Caldeira is one of the most important nature preservation sites in the Azores.

At lunch time, we will have a rich picnic in one of the recreational parks of Faial. In the afternoon you will visit the Caldeira, see the lighthouse of Riberinha destroyed by an earthquake and then go to one of the best sandy beaches of the Azores.

Trail running on Faial is a fun way to get to know the island. The 10 Volcanoes Trail is arguably the best medium distance trail running route on Faial and is actually part of the Azores Trail Run race. This trail offers an easy way to sight-see for those who carry their running shoes with them wherever they go.
Coastal Diving
The Azores are undoubtedly one of the best diving destinations in the Atlantic. Our diving season runs from April to October. Our dive sites are very diverse and can cater for all preferences and levels of experience, with more than 20 dive sites between the islands of Faial and Pico.

Whale Watching in Faial
Whale watching is one of our greatest passions!
We are truly passionate and fascinated by these animals, and every day we try to pass on a little of this passion, and our knowledge, to all those who choose us to live this experience.
We organise morning and afternoon trips, lasting between 3 and 4 hours. The species sighted may vary depending on the time of year, however we do have some species that are "resident" all year round, such as the Sperm Whale.

Sete Cidades, Mosteiros and Ferraria
We set off from Ponta Delgada towards Sete Cidades on the Covoada side with the following itinerary:
- Pico do Carvão viewpoint, Lagoa do Canário, Grota do Inferno viewpoint, Cerrado das Freiras viewpoint, Santiago Lagoon, Vista do Rei viewpoint.
Then we head down to the picturesque town of Sete Cidades, where we'll stroll along the banks of the green lagoon and visit the Church of São Nicolau. Next, we'll head to Mosteiros to enjoy its black sand beach and four islets. Finally, we'll visit Ponta da Ferraria, where you can take a hot dip in the sea, depending on the time of year and the tide.

Full day discovering Faial – Private Tour
Around the Islet of Vila Franca do Campo (April 15 to October 15)
Circle by boat around the Islet of Vila Franca do Campo, see and learn about the beautiful submerged volcano’s geology and living habitat!
The tour starts with a short briefing introducing the islet’s geology and wildlife, the nature reserve’s, and boat safety. Follow the Guide and Skipper to your designated boat for 5-minute travel by sea to the Islet.
